If you have a new-world machine (of course, if you are running OSX), I think there won't be any problems at all. The bootloader of choice is of course yaboot. Have a look at http://penguinppc.org/projects/yaboot/ , there is also a good HOWTO. "Simply add macosx=/dev/hda14 to /etc/yaboot.conf and ybin will translate the unix node into an OpenFirmware device path and configure ofboot.b to present a menu including a MacOSX option." I have Debian Woody on iMac (slot-loading 350mhz), and I do have a triple-boot OS9+OSX+Debian.

About Oldworlds... yes, I know that there may be a lot of troubles.

I followed instructions found from http://people.debian.org/~branden/ibook.html , it describes how to install Woody without using any physical media at all. Worked great for me.
