PCMCIA && Firewire

After weeks of trying I have the actual kernel linux-2.4-benh (2.4.19-pre6-benh)
up und running on a titanium powerbook using the unofficial woody distribution.

I'm in trouble now because I'm unable to backup the box either to the
Firewire disk nor to a tape attached via a Adaptec 1480 SCSI-adapter

The PCMCIA issue:
The Adaptec 1480 SCSI-adapter inserted, on booting the following error(s) appear
on the console:
Starting PCMCIA services: modules Linux Kernel Card Services 3.1.22
   options [pci] [cardbus] [pm]
Intel PCIC probe: not found
/lib/modules/2.4.19-pre6-ben0/pcmcia/i82365.o: init_module: no such device
Hint:.....
ds: no socket drivers loaded
/lib/modules/2.4.19-pre6-ben0/pcmcia/ds.0: init_module: Operation not permitted
Hint:....
cardmgr

The Firewire issue:
How do I mount a Firewire disk?
Is the Orange Micro Firewire to SCSI converter of any use on my configuration?

Cheers
Fritz
