That should not make a difference. This is a kernel-level issue. Did you
build your own kernel image from the nubus-pmac tree? Or are you using a
stock prebuilt kernel from nubus-pmac.sf.net?

Yes, the device node major/minor number pair is correct.

This means one of two things:
- If you built a custom kernel, you may have not built the SWIM3
floppy controller driver into the kernel.
- The system you're running Linux on may have a SWIM2 floppy
controller (which is not yet supported) or another that I'm ignorant
of.
How can I tell what the floppy is?
