it's properly installed on my box. my mirror is ftp.ca.debian.org. see
in glibc (IIRC) in debian/pool/g/glibc. if it's in there the porper
version will be in  the directory. that's an unstable version tho, there
are stable and testing versions in the same directory. if it actually
isn't there, look in /var/lib/dpkg/available.
