something like that in your yaboot.conf

image=/boot/vmlinux-2.4.20-pre7-ben0
        label=Linux
        read-only
        append="video=ofonly"
      ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Don't forget to execute ybin.

Boot from the install media, mount your root partition,
chroot into it, change yaboot.conf , ybin, reboot.
