Performa 6360 doesn even turn on!

I trying to install Debian Potato on a Performa 6360. I boot up and install the system normaly, but I saw in the manual this:

IMPORTANT: The ``Make Linux Bootable Directly From Hard Disk'' step
will install quik, however it will not make the necessary modification
to OpenFirmware's `boot-device' variable. This means that running
``Make Linux Bootable Directly From Hard Disk'' will not cause Debian
GNU/Linux to be booted when you reboot. To make Debian GNU/Linux boot
you need to select ``Execute a Shell'' and run:

         nvsetenv `ofpath /dev/sda2`

where `/dev/sda2' is your root partition. Perform this step after
running ``Make Linux Bootable Directly From Hard Disk''.

With this command (nvsetenv `ofpath /dev/sda2`), I get the message that this machine is not supported. But with the command 'nvsetenv boot-device /dev/hda8' no error message was displayed. After that, this machine doesn't even turn on!

How I rescue this machine? Or it became garbage?
