Problem Xfree86/powerbook3400

Hi folks
I'm having the first real contact with Linux. I have an Powerbook 3400 and I bought the offical distribution of DEBIAN. I made the an simple instalation of it in my disk, but I have a major problem Xfree doesn't start, kills itself.
This is the translation that appears in my screen:

Xfree86 Version 3.3.6/ X window system
(protocol version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6300)
Release date: January 8 2000
If the server is older tha 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems (see http//...)
Operating system: linux 2.2.15 pre13 ppc [ELF]
Configurated drives:
FBDev: Server for frame buffer device
(Patch level 11): mfb, afb, c0fb8, cfb6, cfb32, NCR77C3213LT (accel), ATI Mach64 (accel), IMS Twin Turbo (accel), 3D Labs Permedia 2 (accel)

(using CT number 7)

XF86 Config: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config
(**) stands for supplied, (--) stands for probed/defaut values
(**) XKB:Keymap:"xfree86(fr)" (overrides other XKB settings)

Config error: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86config:79

Protocol "<<EDITME: OTHER>>"

Mouse type not supported by this OS.
Fatal server error:
Child error writing to pipe (broken pipe)
X connection to: 0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)

OK, I think that the problem is the mouse:
What settings should I use to have the trackpad of my powerbook (I searched the FAQ and nothing found). And where to introduce them. What are the video setting for my powerbook. I chose 800x600, 50Hz and vertical frequence 50-70 (are they correct?). Sorry if some of this questions are stupid, but this is quite difficult to me since for long time I just use MacOS, and I never use Linux in my life nor have instalation processes that need such hardware requirements.

Thanks
Pedro

Ps: Can I use the internet TCP/IP setting of my apple computer for setting up the debian network settings?
