sounds like a plan.  the woody kernel also needs to be reconfigured
with CONFIG_MAC_ADBKEYCODES=n asap.

the powerpc kernel needs to be updated one way or another anyway,
either applying some minor patches to make newwer hardware happy or
going with the soon forthcoming 2.2.20 which alan willing should have
those patches merged.

Xfree packages may need to be updated as well to stop using macintosh
maps, i don't know what the current ones are doing.
