I have xfs-xtt running on my 'testing'-system (AFAICT this is standard
xfs patched with TruType support).
Fonts are added to xfs in the file:
/etc/X11/fs-xtt/config:
..
# paths to search for fonts
catalogue = /font/dir/file/,/font/dir/anotherfile/,...
..
