Surprisingly, that doesn't follow.  Especially given the popularity of
samba -- and Linux as a server platform generally -- it can be useful to
have a Linux based virus scanner that looks for viruses that attack other
operating systems.

Say, for instance, you were running an FTP server like Tucows that provides
Windows software, and allowed uploads.  You'd want to scan the incoming
programs for viruses.
