For some reason a lot of GNOME 1.2 binaries are not being built for PPC. :-(
But you can hand-build them from source.  Just don't try gtkhtml, it's been
broken for a long time, and the newest version (which hasn't been
uploaded) breaks gnome-core compilation.  (Though if you really want a new
gtkhtml, I can send you the 0.8-1 .diff.gz from Christian Marillat, just make
sure to build it *after* gnome-core and gnome-applets.)

What I did was to put unstable in the sources, upgrade, then in the select
stage, hold everything except the ones I wanted to upgrade, and slowly upgrade
them a few packages at a time, as I had time to reconfigure (e.g. X4 took some
time).  Now I have a nearly complete unstable system, which you may or may not
want.  Haven't had any major problems lately...
