No /dev/fb1 for pismo external monitor?

Hey,

I'm still trying get my pismo to drive an external monitor. I noticed
that I get the follow message from the aty128fb driver on startup:

aty128fb: Rage Mobility M3 (AGP) [chip rev 0x0] 8M 128-bit SDR SGRAM (1:1)

Registered "ati" backlight controller, level: 11/15
fb0: ATY Rage128 frame buffer device on PCI
no framebuffer address found for /pci@f0000000/ATY,RageM3pParent@10/ATY,RageM3pB

So I'm assuming that the 'no framebuffer address found' message is why
I don't get /dev/fb1 pointing to my external video port? Is this
because it is not yet implemented in the driver?

I tried using Rob Minerick's advice, i.e. first booting to MacOS in
clamshell mode to set some default for the external monitor, then
reboot into linux using the video=ofonly flag. But it did not help.

Shouldn't there be a way to get the OF user interface to display on an
external monitor? I tried setting the output-device variable to be
/pci@f0000000/ATY,RageM3pParent@10/ATY,RageM3pB, but now I don't see
anything.
