You would need at least the actual driver for your sound hardware, do an "insmod
dmasound" and you (could) have a working sound. I don't know if the g4 400 has a
supported sound chip though.

True, netscape sometimes "hangs" on startup, and you just have to kill it badly.
Even the Linux/PPC 4.73 version hangs, so I suppose it's a Debian thingy, but
how to track it ?!
