It was originally binary-i386 and someone asked me to change it.  I don't
remember which arch it was.

What does Linux-PPC do for power management?  I thought Linus was
recommending that you implement the /proc/apm and /dev/apm_bios interfaces
at one point, and that sounds reasonable to me.  Then everyone using Linux
can use the same apmd.
