I believe this is a known problem with the stable version of nmap.  It's
fixed in the upstream betas.  I'm attaching my local (half-assed, probably
very non-policy-compliant) .diff which you should be able to get to work
with the latest upstream beta with minimal problems (although i think the
source i used is now a couple of revs back).
