There are some errors in README.txt.gz:
1) git clone git://anonscm.debian.org/dbnpolicy/policy.git
This repository does not exist (anymore?). Probably on salsa right
now?
2) : git merge master

The double colon is not present in any of the other command line
inputs.
3) <local-branch-name> is some convenient name designating your local
Probably a substitution from HTML did not work here. There a several
other instances of similar problems below in the README, e.g. below
"Repository layout" and "Managing a bug"
