Section for xfonts-foo

The latest version of lintian gives a warning about packages named
"xfonts-*" being anywhere but in the "x11" section. This change was
made in response to bug #878609. The decision for that modification
seems to have been made based upon the "x11" section description
including the word "fonts".

Yet Debian Policy does not even say that font packages for the X
Window System "should" be in the "x11" section (or in any particular
section for that matter).

There are many packages beginning with "xfonts-" that are in the
"fonts" section:

What should happen concerning them?

- Should lintian not complain about a font package being in the "fonts" section?

- Should maintainers of such packages move them to the "x11" section?

- Should maintainers just override the lintian warning if they have a
font package in the "fonts" section?

- Should Debian Policy explicitly mention that PCF fonts "should" or
"must" be in the "x11" section?

- Should the word "fonts" be removed from the description for the "x11" section?

Given that many font formats can be used under the X Window System,
IMHO not having lintian complain about font packages being in the
"fonts" section seems to make sense.

Thank you,

Paul Hardy
