What are the advantages of the Uploaders field over debian/changelog?
I can see some tooling issues, but nothing insurmountable (see
e.g. who-uploads from devscripts). There are also some advantages for
relying on changelog: e.g. it reveals packages only uploaded via NMUs
with the last X months/years, and of course the changelog is typically
even more up to date than the Uploaders field.
