The licenses of the software which we ship can be found in
/usr/share/doc/<package>/copyright. In general, the answer is no;
however, for GPL-licensed software, you must do one of the following:

- Ship the source code of the GPL-licensed software with your product
- Ship an offer to provide the source code of the GPL-licensed software
  at "reasonable cost" to whoever asks for it.

There are a number of packages in Debian which are GPL-licensed and
which have this requirement. If you make no modifications to Debian
itself, then the easiest way to comply with this requirement is to
download our "source" CD or DVD images, and send them to whomever asks
for it (you should do so when you create the "master" image for your
device, so that the source which you ship matches the binaries that you
shipped).

If you do make modifications, you should check the licenses of the
packages that you are changing for the requirements in the license; they
may require more than just the ability to ship sources.

       people in the world who think they really understand all of its rules,
       and pretty much all of them are just lying to themselves too.
