Personally, I have no particular attachment to using org-mode to maintain
that documentation.  I think both of those documents are in the wiki; I
don't recall whether we moved them there from the package or the other way
around.  Having them in some form of SGML would be fine with me.

Yes, if we keep them, this would be a good idea.  No need to install all
the X stuff during the build.
