So, to be clear, does that mean that (assuming they don't change the
meaning) you object to these changes, or only that you do not want to
spend time dealing with them?  In other words, if some portion of the
"everyone" whose time is wasted wants to spend time that way, would
that be a problem?

For what it's worth, I find the text more readable after JBR's changes
than before.
