Package: debian-policy
Version: 3.7.3.0
Severity: wishlist

Hi all,

in the beginning of 2003 it was discussed if the LPPL is DFSG
compatible. IIRC the result was the LPPL v1.3a^1, which is assumed to
be compatible to the DFSG. Hence we (the TeX Live maintainers) would
like to see that license mentioned in the policy.
Actually the # of packages under this license is rather medium:

hille@kloetzer:~ $ apt-cache search --names-only texlive|wc -l
93

which should make > 100, as there are a lot of other packages beside
TeX Live under this license.

Please consider to put that license into the policy.

Regards,
  Hilmar

Not really. See Message #65 in http://bugs.debian.org/473216 . We
have to ship the license in all packages, as the policy maintainers
are not willing to ship the LPPL in /usr/share/common-licenses.

I'm closing my request to put the request to include it. Many thanks
to all contributors!
