That's not what the original bug said.

That's also not what the original bug said.

The original bug was specifically about setting environment variables for
all shells, which is contrary to the intention of Policy.  If you have a
different proposal that you want to see, feel free to propose it, but it's
a little annoying to be corrected on my closure of a bug when you
apparently never even read the bug.
