4.2BSD was released in 1983. This does not seem particularly relevant to
the modern world.
DYNIX was created by Sequent, in the 1980s, for machines that were
competing with VAXes. It had subsequent versions, but seems to have
pretty much disappeared during the 1990s, but I have no information of
whether the space after a hashbang is required in those versions,
although I'd be surprised if it was.
I see no gain at all. Portability to dead Unix versions is not worth the
time or effort (especially since the fact that the space would be the
least of the problems).
You have a lot of energy to spend on Debian stuff, please use it for
something worthwhile instead.
