Hi,

        I am not sure I know what set of directories policy must
 mandate be searched. Does that mean anything else that is added to
 /etc/ld.so.conf it would be a policy violation? Would policy have to
 track anything that could change the list?  I would rather not have
 anything dynamic in the list if it were policy.

        I am not sure it makes sense to restrict the libraries to a
 mostly unchanging set (policy should not be considered swiftly
 changing), I have 
/usr/lib/atlas
/usr/lib/grass/lib
 in my /etc/ld.so.conf, I do not see why that should be made verboten.
