Hello Dan,

In case this is not clear: the debian menu policy only cover menu
entries file provided for use in the Debian menu generated by the menu
package, see <http://packages.debian.org/menu> and 
<http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/menu.html/>.
It only covers the sections stored in the menu file, not the layout used
by the program displaying the menu.

This system provide both system-wide and user-wide override for the
menu.

What specifically do you want to do ?
