I like the first one, myself.

I'm not particularly well-versed in the details of Policy, but I have
wondered why Debian doesn't like /opt (or some other name with similar
objectives).  A nice diatribe on the subject is:

which is, in my book, a very nice way of putting it.  Unfortunately, it has
gone nowhere fast.
