And different binaries with the same version number would enter the
pool?!  Yikes.

We still have lots of packages in unstable which are actually
identical to the version in stable.  We don't insist on repeatedly
rebuilding packages in unstable unless we're deprecating specific
libraries.  So build the package on stable, and if it breaks in
unstable, let people file bug reports.
