I get at least 1-2 emails or bug reports about this every week. Let me
say this one more time:
THIS IS NOT A BUG IN MY PACKAGE DAMMIT!
device3dfx-source builds device3dfx-module. Since you NEED THAT MODULE in
order to use Glide for the Voodoo3, the dependency BELONGS THERE. It is
not my problem that the maintainer of that package chooses not to build
the module for standard kernels.
I'm frankly quite tired of answering all these stupid emails about this
non-existant "bug" in my package because of the way Debian packages kernel
modules. If you want to bug people about it being broken, talk to the
device3dfx-source maintainer or to -policy. It ain't my bug and I don't
have the right to step on the toes of another maintainer to fix it just
because everyone else in the world thinks it is my bug.
