Eh? I've had no problems using debhelper on packages that, say, trace their
ancestry back to ms-dos (abuse, megahal). These certianly don't fit into the
GNU mold, whatever that may be.

I would be interested in precise descriptions of those incidents.

Debhelper's really designed to get out of your way in complex and weird
situations and let you do the right thing manually. Again, I'd appreciate
examples of times when it doesn't do this.
