Bug#24067: Is it ok to close a bug without fixing it?

        Where does this recommendation occur? The policy package is
 not a catch all for any and sundry bug reports. Any such
 recommendations are definitely outdated now, and certainly are not
 part of any document I could find. Please take this to some other
 package. This is not something that the policuy group can do
 something about. 

        If there is really a matter of great import, call for a
 general resolution. If it is really important, people can vote on it,
 and get this resolved.

        This is not a policy matter. call for a general resolution,
 that is what they are for.
