Re: [PROPOSAL] moving the menu hierarchy into debian policy
Sorry if this seems like duplicated info; I just want to keep the bug
report up-to-date. Cc'd to -policy only as a courtesy.
I proposed an amendment to JoeyH's proposal as follows:
Tetris-like - games involving falling blocks
Toys - amusements, eye-candy, etc.
+ Help - programs that provide user documentation
Screen - programs that affect the whole screen
Lock - programs to lock the screen
The proposal was seconded by JoeyH himself and by Karl M. Hegbloom.
JoeyH said: "I'm also willing to withdraw my own, or make this
proposal supercede it or whatever - Chris's arguments are valid."
Wichert's objections to the entire proposal still stand. I'm looking
into a further amendment which may help address Wichert's concerns.
Ultimately, I think it's best to keep the heirarchy flexible and open
to future suggestions and requirements.
