This is great if you only have one ppp link to worry about, but otherwise you
will probably end up with varying programs needing to run depending upon which
link just came up.
This being the case, complicated setups will probably end up ignoring the
/etc/ppp/ip.conf file, which will cause confusion when people try to control
the system by modifying this file, and get no useful response.
IMHO We either need to come up with a more complex /etc/ppp/ip.conf file
(which I doubt is achievable because of the diverse requirements), or allow
sysadmins to set up their own systems (with perhaps a little help from the
postinst's of the relevant packages)
