No, it doesn't rely on the _package_ splay.  eMusic contains the actual GPL'd
splay program itself, slightly modified to work as one of a few audio format
player plugins..  The original question was basically asking if a GPL'd mp3
decoder can go into main, as it seems that the only thing keeping splay out
of main is it's dependance on qt.  Same question about the FreeAMP player,
really..

In eMusic's case, it would be relativly simple to seperate the mp3 playing
part, while leaving all the other supported formats intact, so the splay plugin
could go into wherever, and the rest into main, but it'd be nice if the whole
thing got to go into main. =)
