I'm sorry, but you've given much too much detail.  With all this extra
information, it is hard to sift through and find the essential nugget
of information about what you're ding wrong.

(Try jpilot; modprobe usb-serial; ln -s ttyUSB1 /dev/pilot.  Works for me.)
