I'm pretty sure those files do not contain Perl, so I don't think
the error is related to the Perl transition. They *may* contain prolog,
given the context? :)

Indeed. It regressed with swi-prolog-nox 7.2.3+dfsg-6 -> 7.4.2+dfsg-1,
builds fine on sid when downgrading just that.

Oh dear! Since I started looking into Curry/PAKCS My mind always gets tricks when it sees a .pl file.
