Wearing the pptp-linux maintainer's hat: The pptp-linux package has a full Perl dependency (expanded from the ${perl:Depends} substvar) but it actually just ships a small Perl script pptpsetup[1] that has a very small dependency list. So small it's already satisfied by perl-base. Now I got a request to change the install dependencies accordingly, i.e. replace "${perl:Depends}" with "perl-base". Besides some extra handwork (like probably silencing lintian), is there any reason to not do this? Christoph [1] https://sources.debian.net/src/pptp-linux/1.9.0%2Bds-1/pptpsetup/
