Where semantics differ, it will dispatch to the appropriate backend for you. As it uses ffi, there is no dependency on XS or compilation. As of 1.00 ZMQ::FFI is implemented using FFI::Platypus. The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.
