If you don't want to do that but to build .deb files directly from
e.g. a git checkout of your Dist::Zilla based Perl module, you may
want to have a look at dh-dist-zilla:

https://packages.debian.org/jessie/dh-dist-zilla
https://github.com/elmar/dh-dist-zilla

It's a relative new project and hasn't seen much coverage yet. (And I
still have a blog posting about it on my TODO list.) So any feedback
about dh-dist-zilla is welcome!
