Hi Russ and everybody,

are you sure that perl is build-essential ?  To me it looks like only perl-base
is guaranteed to be installed on a minimal build system that has the
build-essential package installed.  At least in 2007 I was advised to
build-depend on perl each time I use prename in source packages.
