I don't know the details of above specific case, but beware that author 
and copyright holder is not necessarily identical,

As I understand it, copyright holders are those claiming copyright over 
a piece of code, by way of listing the word "copyright" and the claimed 
year(s) covered and their name together on (typically) a single line.

Licensing requires copyright holder(s) to grant it, but being an author 
does not automatically make you a copyright holder, as I understand it.
