Bug#692305: libtest-simple-perl: superseded by perl, remove from wheezy?

Package: libtest-simple-perl
Version: 0.98-1
x-debbugs-cc: debian-perl@lists.debian.org

The Perl core packages contain the same version of Test::Simple as this
package, so ideally we shouldn't ship this duplicate code in wheezy.

I count 19 packages in sid that have a problematic build dependency
on this package. This includes unconditional versioned dependencies like
 sd: libtest-simple-perl (>= 0.82)
and conditional ones where the first alternative is not the perl package:
 libdata-optlist-perl: libtest-simple-perl (>= 0.96) | perl (>= 5.13.4)

The libtest-pod-no404s-perl package is the only one with a problematic
dependency in a binary package.

These 19 packages would need to be fixed to read
 perl (>= xxx) | libtest-simple-perl (>= yyy)
before libtest-simple-perl could be removed from wheezy. I'm not sure
this is worth the effort and will not pursue it myself, but cc'ing the
debian-perl list in case somebody else feels like picking this up.

FWIW, all but the 'sd' package are maintained by the pkg-perl group.
