BTW: Since you are mentioning your Python skills: The Debian Perl
Group relies heavily on PET, the Package Entropy Tracker:
http://pet.debian.net/pkg-perl/pet.cgi
The current codebase of PET is writte in Python, and it still has
some rough edges. So maybe you code help out there too, and make a
difference for the Perl group that way :)
