Re: Consolidating changelog entries for the same author?

Peter,
I can only describe what Gregor has done to my changelogs in the past. Generally he seems to remove a line from a stanza if it is made pointless by a later stanza. In theory that could remove a whole stanza but I don't think it has in my case.

We had a particular issue over what to do with multiple stanza for an initial release.

Hi,

This probably is a stupid question, but still I feel a bit safer
asking, although I've acted on my own opinion once or twice already -
hope I haven't stepped on many toes :)

Apparently, some of the changelog editing tools may add two sections for
the same author in the same changelog entry if somebody else has written
something else in the meantime; cf. the libimage-librsvg-perl changelog
at rev. 60795. Is it okay for other team members to consolidate the
entries in later updates, as I've done in rev. 67659 with the changelog
of libhttp-request-params-perl? Or is there a reason people would want
two stanzas in the changelog?

Again, sorry if I'm wasting everyone's time with a stupid question :)

G'luck,
Peter
