I have done some clean-up and some changes to comply with the team's
"standards" (or best practises, call them whatever you want) and to fix a
couple of lintian I tags. I will look into the missing upstream branch and 
tag soon.

Btw, I have re-written the debian/copyright file using the one that was
written by Nicholas and I have put you in the debian/* section with an
Artistic and GPL-1+ license ("same as perl"), let me know if you don't like
this, and I'll revert the change. Also you missed copyright and license for
the Perl module (which are different than the ones of the library itself).
