require advice to patch (or not) a package

I am packaging a cpan module.
It generates LOTS of lintan warnings due to manpage-has-bad-whatis-entry

It is "only" due to the missing description in the =head1 NAME

A description is however available in the man page.

So do you think that I should however patch all the perl module pages
(quite a lot), or should I leave the warnings ? (and advise upstream
author to update his code for later update).
