It would be nice to have perl officially declared Build-Essential, in that
case.  I don't really want to add a Lintian check for something that's
actually pointless right now; it's a lot of make-work for maintainers.
(Particularly since Build-Depends-Indep doesn't really work -- maybe the
solution is to just drop the concept completely.)
