I think that is not a good idea to make an NMU, because the package
does'nt have any critical bug, is just a new Upstream version, and the
NMU will make a really big change on the current package.
however, I already submit to the BTS a patch that bumps to the new NMUed
version

anyway, I think it would be better wait to mia-team declares the package
orphan.
