At the moment it's a little shell script that I start manually, and it's tailored to the layout of my directories (which contain only the trunks of the packages). The time consuming part is to check the output (look for possible reasons for the discrepancies in the version numbers). Ok, I've changed the script now to (1) use Sources.gz instead of Packages.gz and (2) get the current version from the svn repo instead of my local checkout.
