Google has now published a list[1] of selected students.
I've heard of at least one student receiving the wrong email even though
the student is on the list. Google is investigating the problem.
Therefore, I want to encourage all mentors to make personal contact with
the students you selected to make sure they have received the correct
message and make them aware of the list[1]. The list[1] is correct. In
any case, it is always good practice to welcome people personally.
If any student has received the wrong message, please forward it to
gsoc-support@google.com and CC outreach@debian.org and your mentor.
Congratulations to all the students who have been selected. This is
probably the most difficult part of the program for mentors as we
receive very good applications from many students and we always have to
turn away some people. Whether your were selected or not, you are
always welcome to contribute to Debian, attend our events, apply for
travel bursaries and anything else in our community.
